Definitions

Nama Electricity Supply Company:

Nama Electricity Supply Company S.A.O.C (NESC) is a closed joint stock Omani company formed following a strategic directive from the Government for a complete restructuring of the electricity and water sector under the sector law and provides the following services:

  1. Customer data Update
  2. Customer selection for basic accounts (My Tariff)
  3. Billing and Collection
  4. E-Payment services
  5. Thabit
  6. handling the overdue outstanding
  7. Dues pay instalment
  8. Refund/Transfer Payments

Residential Category:

Electricity accounts for residential properties on land or properties where electricity is supplied for residential use.

Non-residential category:

Electricity accounts associated with properties that are supplied with electricity, and are used for non-residential purposes, including government, commercial, industrial and tourism activities, whether located on land with residential or other use.

Primary Account Tariff:

The tariff that will be applied for the accounts of residential customers registered in their names, with no more than two accounts for each customer.

Additional Accounts Tariff:

The tariff that will be applied to residential customer accounts that exceed two accounts.

Cost-reflective Electricity Tariff:

The tariff that reflects all costs of generating, transmitting, distributing and supplying electricity to customers, where they will bear the costs of consumption without government support.

National Subsidy System:

Platform Provides additional government support to households who meet specific criteria to mitigate the effects of redirecting subsidies to electricity

Government Electricity Subsidy:

The financial contribution provided by the government to support the electricity service tariff for the residential category by bearing part of the cost of these services.

Additional government Subsidy:

Additional support for families registered within the National Electricity Support System through direct debit in the monthly bill.

Customer Data update:

Service to change the name of the previous owner to the new name, add the tenant, update the contact number or any other Account data.

My Tariff:

Service through which you can view the tariff registered for your accounts linked within your ID card, where you can choose the two main accounts.

Electricity bill instalment:

Service for paying the accumulated amounts on the electricity account in instalments for residential and non-residential accounts.

Money Transfer:

In case an error occurs in payment to another account or if there is an excess amount in your electricity account, you can submit a request to transfer the amount to the correct account.

Money Refund:

In case of mistaken payment to another account or if there is an excess amount in your electricity account, you can submit a refund request.

01 National Electricity Subsidy System:

A platform to provide subsidies to families covered by the National Support System to reduce the effects of redirecting electricity support through a direct deduction in the electricity bill.

If you meet the eligibility requirements for the National Subsidy, you register in the (National Subsidy System) for electricity support by downloading the system's application on your phone (National Subsidy System) or by visiting the website: www.nss.gov.om after updating your data at Nama Supply Company.

Eligibility for subsidy is achieved by considering both the size of the household and its income. For more details, visit the system’s website: www.nss.gov.om

If your electricity account is not linked to your civil number, you must first update your data.

Yes. All you have to do is update your data and inform us about the new electricity account. Then log in to the National Subsidy Program and link the electricity account with the National Subsidy System. The Subsidy will be transferred to the new account in the following month.

One electricity account. and this account to be eligible for Subsidy, the account must be among the accounts subject to the basic account tariff.

02 Thabit

This service allows all customers to pay a fixed amount for the electricity bill each month based on the average actual consumption for the last 12 months.

Yes, the service can be activated for more than one account.

The service is free, and it is provided as one of the multiple payment methods for our customers.

A new service will be created for the customer which includes the amounts accumulated on the account and dividing them over 12 months.

05 Customer Data Update

  • Civil ID

You can update your data in case any change occurs in your address or contact number or if you move from property to another.

The additional account tariff will be applied until the data is updated and linked to the civil ID number.

  • When you submit the required documents through the available data update channels, the system will electronically process your data within a period not exceeding one month.
  • If you update your data while the system is processing the necessary invoices, you may receive the previous tariff in the invoice for the month following the month in which you updated your data.
  • Once the data appears after the update in the system, the tariff is modified, and the value of the invoices is corrected as of the date of updating your data.

Update your data for all your electricity accounts through our website. We at Nama Supply Company will link your civil number to your electricity account number.

If you are purchasing or renting a residential property, contact us and update your property ownership information or lease agreement.

Make sure that your accounts are linked to your civil ID number through the My Tariff service, and if it turns out that the accounts are not linked to your civil number, you only must update your data through the Nama Services platform, and it will be updated.

The account must be registered with one civil ID number to benefit from the basic account tariff. If the electricity account is registered in two different names, the eligibility criteria will not apply to it. In this case, the property owners can agree on the individual who will register the electricity account (without affecting the ownership of the property) to update his data and benefit from the primary account tariff that will be applied to the two accounts owned by that individual.

You can change the accounts to which the primary account tariff applies through the communication channels available to the service provider in submitting the request, which provided to continue benefit from the primary account tariff for two accounts only.

06 Billing and Payments

There are no additional fees. A fee of 15,750 riyals will be added in case of service interruption and resumption.

The company sends alerts via SMS and email registered.

The approved price for the year 2024 is 0.025 Baisa.

Residential tariff
  • Applied for the residential buildings for residential use
  • Basic account tariff (two accounts or less): The subscriber must have only one or two accounts
  • Additional account tariff (more than two accounts): The subscriber must have more than two accounts
  • Primary account tariff with national support: in case the national Subsidy system applied for him/her and that only one account is registered in the national support system
Non-residential tariff

The non-residential tariff is applied to properties designated for non-residential use which includes the following activities:

1. Tourism activities:

  • The non-residential tariff is applied to subscribers who own properties for tourism activities

2. Industrial activities:

  • The non-residential tariff is applied to subscribers who own properties for industrial activities

3. Commercial activities:

  • The non-residential tariff is applied to subscribers who own properties for commercial activities

4. Government activities:

  • The non-residential tariff is applied to subscribers who own properties that fall within government buildings
  • Obtaining a letter from the government entity to bear the cost of electricity bills
Agricultural tariff
  • The customers who have agricultural options holdings for productive farms
  • The customers who own coolers and ice factories for preserving fish
  • The customers who have pumps and modern irrigation systems, agricultural projects, protected agriculture, livestock farms, and fish farming projects
  • The customers who have projects for the fish industry and preservation
  • Obtaining a letter of recommendation that includes the technical report from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources
  • Separating the consumption used for the areas covered by the reduction of the electricity unit for the agricultural sector (agricultural tariff) from its consumption for other areas (homes, offices, or any other purposes in agricultural and fish holdings and projects)
Cost-reflective tariff
  • New customers of the non-residential tariff (commercial, government, industrial, tourism) with loads of 60-99 kilowatts/hour.
  • The company monitors the consumption of these accounts monthly. If the Customer's consumption rate exceeds 100 megawatts/hour during 12 consecutive months, the following will be done:
  • The customer's tariff will be changed to the cost-reflective tariff CRT from the following month, and the new tariff will be recalculated retroactively for 12 months.
  • New customers with connection loads up to 100 kilowatts/hour
  • The meter with the specifications of the cost-reflective tariff CRT will be installed
  • The customer will be subject to the CRT tariff from the first day of consumption
  • If the Customer's consumption does not exceed 100 megawatts for 12 months, the tariff will be changed to the non-residential tariff, and a recalculation will be made retroactively from the beginning of the year.
  • Existing Customers:
  • Included in all items for new Customers with connection loads up to 100 kWh

If the electricity account number for the apartment is linked to your civil ID number in our database, through data update, the tariff due is the Primary account tariff, and you are also entitled to obtain the Primary account tariff for two accounts, whether you are a citizen or resident, property owner or tenant.

The large consumer category includes all non-residential subscribers who consume more than 100 megawatt-hours per year.

Yes, you are eligible for the Primary account tariff if the meters are registered under one account.

All tenants are entitled to benefit from the primary account tariff for a maximum of two accounts by updating their data and presenting a valid lease contract or a written statement from the property owner.
